| Chef. Wizard. One of the seven birds in red flying between universes. Here in Ryslig Taako feels like very few of those things, having been stripped of most of his magic and nearly anything he could describe as 'responsibility', but it's something he's learning to get used to. Now that the initial transformations are over, he's beginning to sit comfortably in the idea that Lup is with him and this is just another world- or well, sort of. Taako's got one main focus in Ryslig at this point- break the hell out. Going back to his world isn't necessarily a priority, but wouldn't be the worst thing as long as Lup comes with him. His plan so far is to stoke the fires of the people who can make that change happen, while taking every opportunity to make his life comfortable and flip off the ones who brought him here. If he's good at anything, he's good at making people regret the day they messed with him. |

More than that, Taako isn't sure he wants to go home if those are the only options. Lup isn't back where he left from, and this Lup is here. Within Ryslig, he's been glad that Barry has been such a calming force, but it almost feels... too calming, at times. Barry has taken to this place and a calmer life very quickly, and it's not a life Taako can imagine for himself. At the very least, he still believes Barry would want to escape if he found a way out, and surely he'll assist if Taako comes up with any ideas. At the very least he's always going to be around for a cup of tea, a chat on any ridiculous subject, and that the chickens will always be fed.

The only thing that halts him is, ironically, that same trauma Fiddleford is trying to put behind him. While he can respect that he has baggage that he's trying to get past, he and Lup have been put in danger on more than 3 separate occasions due to his past following him to the present. It makes Taako wary of getting too close in his life for safety, but staying just close enough so that he knows what's going on. He could probably help with that, of course. But that requires a certain... sensitivity for other that he doesn't yet posses. Still, Fiddleford might be the person that helps the most with that in the end- it's hard to imagine everyone is dust when their past follows you, too. That's much more akin to family than anything else he's ever known.

Between events and an error in judgement of his limits, Taako's finding out Jack doesn't just act like a bratty king of the world- he is one, and has few qualms about putting down anyone needed to be on top. He's managed to push his limits and slide out fo the issue before, but Jack is quickly becoming someone Taako needs to watch and watch carefully. He could be a powerful asset, an important ally, or an enemy he could never quite escape.
But you know what they say. Keep your friends close. And Taako will keep him close, for sure.

Regardless, Tim is a fun kind of guy and one of the few people whose turns of phrase can match the twins. As much as he won't go out of his way to secure Tim's safety, Taako wants to make sure he's in his back pocket as at least a friendly acquaintance if Jack ever goes completely off the rails; he has doubts the man would protect him at all, but Taako would bet he knows every great hiding spot from Jack, and that'll probably be just as good.

Of course, because of this, the more Taako finds out about him the more he's realizing they share a lot- and fit together surprisingly well. While their banter is entertaining, Taako always finds something about Juno that surprises him, capped off by the fact that Juno seems to Aggressively Care about him. Normally, this wouldn't be such a big deal... if he wasn't a little afraid of some emotions he's caught himself having back. Taako knows better than most that there's no point to getting attached to people in these planes, and yet he finds himself slipping into thinking he can let Juno in before closing himself back up.
One day, they both might know what some of those emotions mean.

To Taako, the interesting thing about Marco is that he has the capacity to possibly get them out of here. Even if he isn't the main man running the show, he occupies a specific space of having power Taako doesn't while simultaneously suggestible enough to be steered in the right direction. It's slow going on that front, but Marco's affection for him and his family is continuous, so that's perfectly fine. He's hard pressed to admit it, but the fact that he actually enjoys the other man's company is also a boon- and in time, he may actually find space to say that to him more.
