Chef. Wizard. Reclaimer. Savior of the world. A year in a city can change a lot, but at his core, Taako is still mostly the same- distrustful, flamboyant, and brash on the outside with a softer core only a select few ever see. Despite his offputting nature, he's found solace in his family and even some friendships in people outside of his home- though those are few and far between. Taako still doesn't trust like others, but his presence has changed others; and as he's loathe to admit, they have changed him in turn. After going home twice, regaining memories and experiences, Taako's goal is still clear- kill the Gods. Escape the city. Protect those he holds dear. But the more people he meets, and the more that he can't take with him if he leaves, that goal is getting messier and harder to achieve. However, having been here the longest out of his family, he knows he carries a legacy no one else has. Now, to stop that from consuming him.

BARRY BLUEJEANS

Taako's brother in law and the IPRE's chief science officer, Barry was someone Taako never expected to end up close to, especially in Hadriel, but somehow things just fell into place. Aside from being one of the only people he'd trust with his sister, Barry sits in a unique position where he isn't afraid to call Taako out on his shit- he loves him, which means he wants him to be the best version of himself that he can be. For someone like Taako who considers himself a walking trash heap, this puts them at odds a bit more than either of them would like, but Taako is eternally grateful that Barry continues to love both him and Lup- and that he makes his sister happy. Even through their ups and downs in Hadriel, Barry has become one of Taako's most trusted people- while sometimes Taako has to knock some sense into him, the undercurrent of him is a calming and important force in Taako's life. He's one of the few people that can do anything negative to him and have Taako actually fight to get him to stay, an accomplishment not found by many others. In the end, whether he's being greeted with a joking cake or sharing an emotional moment under the sunset, Barry is someone Taako will always want right by his side.
